If you receive an "Access Violation" error when attempting to open or save files in a Zapper Software product then just uninstall your software, download and install the updated XP SP2 compliant software. All software downloads on this site have now been updated to be Windows XP SP2 compliant. If that does not resolve your issue then please contact us with the problem.
We have been working on the issues related to Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. This has caused many serious problems for many software developers. Even some Microsoft software will no longer run under Windows XP SP2. The only problem that Zapper Software has encountered thus far is an access violation error when opening or saving files on our products. This is caused by a component (open and save dialogs) in the compiler and has been fixed by changing the style of the dialog. I am assuming that XP SP2 does not like type of dialog used or being overridden. This was not an issue prior to XP SP2. Please report any of our software bugs related to XP SP2 to us on the contact us page. Effective 2004/12/10 all products have been fixed except for JpegGuard and zMailGuard. They will be fixed shortly. If you have XP SP2 and require either of these 2 products then send me an e-mail and I will deliver to you as soon as I am finished. If you just require the ShareGuard Locksmith module then download it from the menu on the right.
2004/12/11 zMailGuard has now been completed.
2004/12/11 JpegGuard has now been completed. JpegGuard will be receiving another update shortly to include the Skin Engine for all Zapper Software products but should now be XP SP2 compliant.
2004/12/14 JpegGuard has now received the skin upgrade as well as the XP SP2 fix.
2004/12/17 ShareGuard key modules have now been updated. The fix is available in a separate download. The entire software bundle for ShareGuard is up to date as well - still V2.1.
XP SP2 Connectivity Issues:
Turn off your firewall. The firewall will block everything on SP2. Setup the ports correctly - read the documentation.
